 Trauma and Emergency Subspecialty Surgeons

Trauma and Emergency Subspecialty Surgeons, Inc. (TESS) was established in 2012 to provide reliable, 24-7/365, high-quality sub-specialty call coverage for our Denver area hospital partners. TESS staffs its call coverage contracts with physicians and mid-level providers with the requisite sub-specialized skills and commitment to caring for acute illness or traumatic injury within their surgical specialty. We currently have over thirty board-eligible / board-certified surgeons that cover Facial Trauma, Oral Surgery, Ophthalmology and ENT at multiple Denver area hospitals and associated free-standing emergency departments.

Caring for the acutely-ill or traumatized patients often is significantly more complex and time consuming then doing so for their outpatient counterparts. Our goal at TESS is to continually and reliably furnish a group of surgical specialist to provide the highest quality medical and surgical care for this complex patient population. Additionally, we strive to engage with our hospital partners and or hospital-based colleagues, with a unified voice, to continually improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of the care we provide.

SUBSPECIALTY SERVICES

EAR, NOSE, & THROAT
Otolaryngology (pronounced oh/toe/lair/in/goll/oh/jee) is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Otolaryngologists are physicians trained in the medical and surgical management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck. They are commonly referred to as ENT physicians.

OPHTHALMOLOGY
An ophthalmologist is a specialist in medical and surgical eye problems. Since ophthalmologists perform operations on eyes, they are both surgical and medical specialists. A multitude of diseases and conditions can be diagnosed from the eye.

FACIAL TRAUMA
Facial trauma, also called maxillofacial trauma, is any physical trauma to the face. Facial trauma can involve soft tissue injuries such as burns, lacerations and bruises, or fractures of the facial bones such as nasal fractures and fractures of the jaw, as well as trauma such as eye injuries.

ORAL SURGERY
It is a form of dentistry that treats a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects around the head, neck, face and jaw. Most common oral and maxillofacial services include extraction (moderate to difficult, including wisdom teeth), reconstructive dental oral surgery and placing dental implants.
