Neha Patel Sitole, MD

Dr. Sitole went to medical school at the University of Missouri where she graduated in the top ten percent of her class. She was an invited member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She did her ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago and completed her oculoplastics fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University. Dr. Sitole did a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery to further specialize in disorders affecting the eyelids, eye sockets, and tear ducts. This highly specialized field addresses all disease processes that affect the structures surrounding the eye. Her training as an ophthalmologist first results in a plastic surgeon who always maintains safety of the eye. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon’s name mean that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College. Dr. Sitole enjoys teaching and has worked in both academics and private practice. She has taught at all levels, including teaching oculoplastic procedures to fellows and teaching the basics of eye exams to medical students. She was awarded Teacher of the Year by the ophthalmology residents during her time as associate professor of Ophthalmology at Loyola University Medical Center. Her interests are functional and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, forehead and midface. This includes eyelid tumors, eyelid malposition, pediatric eyelid pathology, thyroid disease, tear duct disorders, and botox/fillers.
